Taare Zameen Par

I happened to see this movie recently and I must say that it is one of the few gems delivered by Bollywood. The acting, direction, dialogs were all commendable, to say the least. Aamir Khan has proved that whatever he touches turns to gold. The songs in this movie are also well placed and with a meaning. They merge with the sequences, something rarely seen in Bollywood.

The movie delivers an excellent message about the cut-throat competition in India in all walks of life. It shows that even kids are not spared, and have to endure them. Success is measured by marks, rank, percentage etc. And in this world, one would dread to imagine what would happen to a child with learning disabilities. Ishaan had the good fortune of having a teacher who has suffered the same plea.

But what about thousands of those who are not so lucky? Kya woh taare kho jaate hai is zameen par?

PS: According to my knowledge, at the moment, the only Learning Disability clinic in Mumbai is at Lokmanya Tilak General Hospital, Sion, more popularly known as Sion Hospital.

Marriage of true minds

LET me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O, no! it is an ever-fixed mark,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.
Love ’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error, and upon me prov’d,
I never writ, nor no man ever lov’d.

Commencement

Often, I have been goaded by a friend that I should blog, for I write well. Well, I used to, but I am not sure if I do now. And anyways, I have always been skeptical about blogging. What should I blog about; my everyday activities, my political views, or my hobbies? Another friend of mine who blogs regularly says that you don't have to meet him to know what is happening in his life. It is all there on his blog. Something like that would definitely give me jitters, it like having your personal diary read by everyone.

But then, what are the dark deeds that I am trying to hide out from everyone here? I wonder. Having said so much, it would seem ironical, almost hypocritical, that I have finally posted a blog. :) But here it is.

Maybe, it will help me to see things from a different perspective myself when I start writing. Or a complete opposite view from the comments. In short, something to talk about and discuss, have a healthy debate and learn about a myriad of things that may cross my mind.

So hopefully, the second post will come soon and it will be a better topic!!!

I say hopefully because "Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free..."
